Visa requirements
Documents (along with a national passport, 1 passport sized photo (matt) and filled up visa application form) required when applying for:
BUSINESS VISA (AND HUMANITARIAN VISA):
1. Invitation from a Russian business counterpart issued by the Russian Passport & Immigration Authority (original only);
2. Invitation from a Russian Government body or regional authority processed by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (original) or cabled directly to the Consular department;
3. Supporting business papers (authorization letter of the company, bank statement (both personal and corporate may be required), tax return report etc.)
MULTIPLE-ENTRY VISA
According the above mentioned visa types similar requirements are applied.
Up-to-date HIV Test (duly signed and stamped, original only) is the must.
PERSONAL VISIT VISA:
1. Invitation from the Russian national issued by the Russian Passport & Immigration Authority (original only);
2. Proof of relationship between an invitee and the inviting person (marriage and/or birth certificates etc.) or substantial connections between an invitee and the inviting person;
STUDENT VISA:
List of documents for the student visa.
1. Visa application to be filled by the student at the Russian Embassy.
2. Original Invitation issued by the Russian Passport & Immigration Authority of Russia and its photo copy.
3. Original offer letter issued by the inviting University.
4. Original O/L certificate issued by the Ministry of Education of Sri Lanka certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka and its photo copy.
5. Original A/L certificate issued by the Ministry of Education of Sri Lanka certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka and its photo copy.
6. Letter from bank confirming the balance. The balance is to be sufficient to cover the education and living costs of a student. Make sure that it comes with the bank letter head and the manual signature of the branch manager and the
rubber stamp.
7. Medical and HIV negative certificate.
8. 1 passport size colour photograph (Mat finish with white background).
WORKING VISA:
1. Invitation from a Russian employer (legal entity) issued by the Russian Passport & Immigration Authority (original only);
2. Up-to-date HIV Test (duly signed and stamped, original only);
3. Duly signed and stamped working contract (employee’s copy), working permit of the Russian Passport & Immigration Authority (if issued);
4. Vocational training certificate corresponding to the future employee’s duties according to the contract.
TRANSIT VISA:
1. Valid visa of the country of the final destination;
2. Confirmed air ticket or print-out duly stamped;
TOURIST VISA:
1. Tourist voucher & tourist confirmation issued by the Russian tourist company accredited by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (fully paid, originals only);
2. Confirmed flight itinerary (print-out duly stamped) or purchased return tickets.
IMPORTANT NOTICE!
All prospective applicants should arrive for visa interview in person. Applications made through any agents or authorized persons will not be entertained.
Visa applications are to be submitted and issued visas collected during working hours only: Tuesday, Thursday – 9.30 – 12.00.
